Hill Walking

Within Ullapool there are riverside and beach walks where you can take in the village and surroundings.

Hill Walking

The sea front is great to stroll along and watch the boats landing at Ullapool Harbour, the beach out to Rhue Point is a good afternoon or evening stroll.

We also have hill walks just behind the village accessible from within the village. Within 30 minutes you can be looking over the village and loch and out to the isles beyond.

From the village, you can walk up to Braes and get a stunning view down to Ullapool and the sea and at Rhue you can take in the sunset over the Summer Isles or walk the hill behind and look out to Ben Mor Coigach and over Ardmair.

For the more serious walker and climber, we are surrounded by great paths and climbs ranging from forest walks to more strenuous climbs. Within less than an hour you can be at famous hills and mountains including Stac Pollaidh, Cul Mor, Cul Beag, the world famous Suilven and south to Beinn Dearg and An Teallach.

Do take care to wear the right clothing and footwear and always check weather forecasts and let someone know where you are. If unsure of the hills and conditions, remember there are climbing coaches and guides that live and work in the area who can take you out.
