I was in Ullapool in 1985 and must say that it's a very nice place. I was crew member of the fishing ships from Germany. The area is very nice with the mountains and has a beatiful view on the beach. Captains Cabin was always our gathering point when we had to go back to the ship. I'd like to sit there again.

I have actually never been to Scotland, but I very much would like to make a trip there in the future. I've been interested in your town because my stepdaughter is visiting your area and will be returning in a couple of weeks. She is in Ullapool to visit a close friend. She went all by herself and she is having a great time. Her description of the area sounds very beautiful and judging from the photos I've seen on the Internet I must agree.

Just returned from 4 days in Ullapool. We absolutely loved the place and intend to return for longer. Thank you to Robbie at 'Carnoch' B&B. Would also like to mention The Ceilidh Place, The Mountain Cafe (in the outdoor shop), Celtic Crafts, The Seaforth, The Arch Inn, The Museum and the little Tea shop right on the front, I can't remember the name.

Hi - we're returning to Ullapool on holiday after a break of a few years. Looking forward to sitting outside the FBI & watching the seals in the harbour. Revisiting Stac Pollaidh is also a "must" plus I'd recommend the Summer Isles cruise to anyone reading this. When we visited last time it was pouring as we got on the boat so we were the only customers, but is so often the case for this part of the country, 10 minutes later the clouds broke & the sun came out - we had a fantastic day & the boat to ourselves! brilliant!

p.s. can recommend the campsite at Ardmair (lovely people, quiet, super clean facilities, great!) & Durness (fab beach, make sure you camp on the western side of the site & get down the cliff to the beach there, it's easy, plus you'll have the most beautiful beach to yourself as nobody thinks you can get down to it!!!)
