| Description |
Natasha Gilmore's latest work explores the absurdities and agonies of women under pressure. Goaded by 21st-century status anxiety into a restless search for perfect good looks, top jobs and designer goodies, the work's trio of dissatisfied heroines alternately support and undermine each other as they pursue their goals. Gilmore's comic choreographic vision comes partnered with music by Scottish composer Quee MacArthur from maverick folk band Shooglenifty, and text by Zimbabwean performance poet Tawona Sithole. Performed by Jade Adamson, Charlotte Jarvis and Tara Hodgson, this mix of song, music and dance-theatre offers a comic assessment of the evil fruits of greed and ambition, and a morality tale on the importance of friendship and happiness. |
