There is a wealth of things to do, see, taste and experience in Ullapool, Dundonnell, Achiltibuie and all around this beautiful region of the north west Highlands of Scotland. If yo are looking to visit, pass through or perhaps even work or live in the area then we hope you will take a look around our site and get a glimpse of what we have to offer.

The region is one of the least spoilt natural environments in the UK, if not the world. Famed for our outstanding geology, nature, seascapes and wildlife, there is everything that you can imagine if you like the outdoors and walking, climbing and exploring.

This is is also a great base for touring the Highlands. We are only an hour north of the rail and air links in Inverness but centrally positioned for visiting the surrounding area, taking a ferry trip to the Hebrides, viewing the Summer Isles and much more.

The region has been settled by Picts, Celts, Vikings and various settlers who have sought to establish fishing and crofting communities along the coast and in the hills and glens. We still offer a great opportunity to see, experience and taste traditional fishing, seafood and Highland fare, crafts and culture.

Ullapool, Dundonnell and Achiltibuie also have a great selecton of artists, artistic events, book, guitar, music and beer festivals as well as sporting events, boat trips, will walking/climbing and much more.

Ullapool Dance Festival.

Ullapool Dance festival is on 7th, 8th and 9th of March. Lots happening all over the village so check their website for full details. www.ullapooldancefestival.org/

British Divers Marine Life Rescue Course.

A Marine Mammal Medic training course that trains how to assist rescue whales, dolphin and seals is being held in Ullapool on 23rd March. Fun and vital! More info can be found at www.bdmlr.org.uk

Ullapool Book Festival: 10th to 12th May 2013.
