But nothing that we can show you in this web site can come near to a real reflection of life as it is lived on the west coast. So many things happen here in Dundonnell, in Ullapool, in Achiltibuie…we don’t know where to start...

Should we tell you about the scenery, the mountains, or maybe the golf-course or the gardens. What about the traditional music, or the fishing, and the walking? Have you ever seen the sunsets, the wildlife, the birds? Are you into history, genealogy? Perhaps you prefer the sea, the sailing, a kayak trip, the beaches? Maybe you fancy the swimming pool, the sports centre, the cycling? Have you tasted the prawns, the mussels, the lobsters? Are you for a dram…?

If you have been here before, you will know what we are talking about, but it can’t let you breathe the air, watch the sunset or get the sense of place coming from the young traditional musicians who infect us all. It can’t offer relaxation, the whiff of the sea, the craic in the bar or the sense of space and isolation from a walk in Wester Ross. By its very limitations it cannot achieve more than put a very good idea into your head – don’t settle for the images, come and be very welcome.
